On the morning of the 28th local time, Chairman Pelosi's husband at his home was attacked by an unknown man.

At the time, it was reported that Pelosi was staying in Washington, not his home.

Police arrived at the scene and caught a suspect holding a blunt weapon, police said, and the suspect was a 42-year-old man named David DePape.

Mr. Depape will be imprisoned in San Francisco County Jail.]

Police said the suspect broke into Chairman Pelosi's home and then screamed to find him, suggesting that the crime was actually targeting Pelosi.

The police are planning to investigate allegations of attempted murder, assault with a blunt weapon, and trespassing into a home.

Chairman Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi, suffered a trauma to the back of his head and is being treated at the hospital.

Pelosi was traveling around the country to raise money for the election and campaign for support ahead of the midterm elections to be held on the 8th of next month.

The White House said in a statement that "President Biden expressed his condolences over the horrific attack in a phone conversation with Chairman Pelosi."
